BIO
In a not-so-secret corner of SE Portland, there is a weathered old Barn where WhistlePunk! was born. Since 2009, the Barn has been a gathering place for local musicians to celebrate and collaborate Hootenanny-style once a month. It was here in the spring of 2010 that JOHN and KIP first met. A couple of Hamm's tallboys later, the seeds for the band had been sown.WhistlePunk! blends the sounds of classic Honky-Tonk, Pop, and Rock and Roll into their own unique sound that is at once familiar and hard to pin down. Their live shows range from whisper quiet haunting melodies to rousing drinking songs in the time it takes to order another round.
